Hilando Líneas for teachers

Short original stories, five challenges that go beyond “find the sentence”, and a printable worksheet for every story. Free, with no accounts and no student data.

Why it works in class

Each story is built so that the challenges can only be solved by understanding the whole text: inferring what happened, ordering events, judging which continuation is coherent, spotting false statements and visualising a scene. It takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Printable worksheets

Every story in the archive has a free printable worksheet: the text with numbered paragraphs and the five activities on paper. There are two versions: a student worksheet with space to answer, and an answer key with explained answers, the ending of the story and a suggested marking scheme. You will find them at the end of each story.

For English learners (ESL/EFL)

Tricky words and expressions are marked in the text; tapping them shows the Spanish translation. Students learning English can read the English edition, and students learning Spanish can switch to the Spanish edition, where the help works the other way round.

Accessibility

  • Dyslexia-friendly mode (the “D” button), with the OpenDyslexic typeface and extra spacing.
  • Read-aloud of the story with the device’s own voice (the “Listen” button).
  • Light and dark themes, and no timer.

Privacy

There are no accounts. Progress is stored only in each student’s browser, and the site only keeps anonymous totals.
