1. Read the story of the day
Every day at midnight (Madrid time) there is a new original short story, between five and ten minutes long. Each day of the week has its genre: mystery on Mondays, fantasy on Tuesdays, current affairs on Wednesdays, history on Thursdays, science fiction on Fridays, adventure on Saturdays and legends on Sundays.
Some words and expressions are underlined with dots. Tap them and Borrón, our ink crow, shows you their meaning in Spanish, which is handy if you are learning either language.
2. Take on the five challenges
- Detective: choose what really happened and prove it with a clue from the text.
- The Loom: put the events in the order they happened, which is not always the order they are told in.
- The Missing Page: pick the only continuation that fits everything you have read.
- Spot the Contradiction: cross out the statements that don’t match the story. Careful: crossing out true ones costs points.
- The Gallery: four nearly identical illustrations; only one respects every detail.
You can go back to the text at any time during the challenges. There is no timer.
3. Your score and the ending
Each challenge is worth 20 points, for a total of 100, broken down by reading skill: inference, sequencing, cause and effect, literal comprehension, interpretation and critical thinking. You can share your result as a challenge: whoever opens the link sees your score and tries to beat it, without seeing any answers. The ending and the solutions are published the following day.
